Project Life 2013 - Week 7 & insert

WEEK 7

Here is my Week 7 spread and ANOTHER visit to the Chocolate Factory because my son didn't get to go the first time. ;o)
A little mini photo shoot of my daughter and she is so easy to take photos of because she is such a poser as you can tell.

Week 7 also involved my 40th and a party to celebrate. My dad made a makeshift timber fence paling frame that I hung from the tree so we could get photos of all the guests. We also had dress ups in a basket next to the frame in case anyone wanted to disguise themselves. Haha It was great to see so many people using them.
Because there were so many people from all years of my life, I wanted to put on the photos the year of when I met them. Thats what all those years mean. There were old friends from over 22 years ago that I had not spoken to for almost as long because of awkward circumstances. You know, the ex boyfriends sister and unfortunately we hit it off soooooooooo well that it was hard to let go of her and her husband than my ex. ;o)

It was such a great night, even though it WAS very hot. I think it was around 38 degrees celcius. Thank goodness I made it late afternoon early evening as we waited for any cool breeze.
The cake was made by a parent from work (I am a Room Leader & Aide in a Childcare Centre) and she did a FANTASTIC job. Exactly what I wanted. Even the inside was variegated pinks like I wanted.
My husband and my brother certainly let their hair down and made use of the Karaoke machine until 2am in the morning. haha

Thanks for visiting!

I will be posting Week 8 shortly.

Project Life 2013 - Week 5 & 6

WEEK 5
Please excuse the quality of the photos taken of the pages. I am still trying to find THE best spot to photograph them with minimal editing and perfect or close to perfect light. This position where these photos were taken are throwing a blue cast over the pages and I'm not happy with them.
So I apologise.

Anyway, this is Week 5. The week my son started High School and on the way to his first day, there was a loose bull and the police had stopped the traffic until the bull was caught. Thank goodness we were still on time.
A pic of the Blue Tongue lizard is one my hubby found in the back yard and we think it may be my son's missing Blue Tongue from years ago. He's looking fat and healthy. We did put him back where he was found.
My black eye photo!! This was a week later I think, after I had a stack on the knee board and the board came back and whacked me in the side of the head.
My 40th party preparations.
A visit from my gorgeous friend from Brisbane and an excuse to go to the Chocolate Factory again in our town. We also took him up to our cabin in Bonnie Doon for the night.

WEEK 6
This was a quiet photo week so I decided to get some facts from all of us to record in the album, using their own handwriting (other than my daughter as she can't write yet.)
And more party preps.

Project Life 2013 - Week 3 & 4..............

WEEK 3........
This page I will be changing while I'm on retreat. I'm not happy with the 'Week 03' card. Easy enough to redo.

WEEK 4......
This spread would have to be my first that I really really liked and WON'T be changing. LOL
I love the colours and the free printables I used from Chantelle here

See you soon for Week 5 & 6.

Project Life 2013 - Cover page & Week 1 & 2 .........

Helloooooooooo!
Just so you know, I am up to date with my Project Life album for this year, but didn't want to overload this post with photos, so will do a week or two every couple of days until I am up to date with my blog.
Here are some pics of the first 2 weeks of my first ever Project Life Album.

COVER/Introductory Page
(Which I WILL be re doing as I am not happy with it. I'm off on a retreat this weekend for 3 days so this will give me plenty of time to redo some pages I'm not happy with. This being one of them.)

WEEK 1....
This spread is close to my style in scrapbooking. I did struggle at first to keep my style to my PL album, but when I am a 'layers' and 'bulky embellishments ie: Prima Flowers, I couldn't add the bulk I normally do. So it has taken me a good few weeks to find my groove and style with PL.

 WEEK 2.........
This is the first week that I played with PS and putting text directly on my photos.

 WEEK 2 INSERT.........

So thats the start of my very first Project Life album.
I can't wait to get to retreat this weekend and start on my 2012 album. Phew! That was an effort to get it organised. I will show you my process for going back and doing an album in the future.

Been far too busy...............

Wow! October 2012 since I was last here.
Oh dear!

But I'm back!!

And doesn't my blog look just devine?? Thanks to Kellie Winnell and her creativeness.
I love my new blog!

Since October I have had very little or no time to create with paper.
I found that my family needed me *a lot* more than normal and my Scrapbooking had to take a back seat for a little while. (much to my disappointment.)
I'm sure quite a few people have had to make a decision like this at some point in their lives and later on have been able to take it back up again.
Oh, don't get me wrong. I still have very little time to scrap and our lives have gotten busier, but I think I have it a little under control that I feel I can start to play with paper again.

At the end of last year I happened to notice more people around me and on my social networks were doing Project Life!
I had first heard about it probably early last year and didn't think much about it as I was really enjoying scrapping 12x12's and some smaller sizes, getting creatively dirty and messy and being able to put my creativeness into Off The Page items.
But looking closer at it at the end of last year, I found that I can still be creative like I was before, I can still get dirty and messy with paints and mists, and it's still scrapping but in a smaller scale.
What attracted me was the minimal time it needed to get all my photos into an album and not just the special events. I really loved that. Plus I could still create with paper.

I ordered all my plastic pocket dividers from Craft House , who I must say are exceptional in their service and postage.

It took me almost 3 months to actually do something with those plastic pockets. I was a little intimidated by where to start.
With a lot of procrastinating I got stuck into the first page introducing the album, at a retreat I was on earlier in the year. And from there, my PL journey (and addiction) had begun.
It did take me a little while to find my groove and my style again, but those first few pages WILL be redone. I would like to leave them as is and be able to look back and see them for what they are. But I just can't leave them.

So that is how my journey with Project Life began.

I will be sharing my Project Life pages here, (when I can find the right light source for photographing the pages in their plastic pockets. Grrrr! Really struggling with that at the moment.)

So, welcome to my gorgeous new look blog and I look forward to sharing my pages and processes of my Project Life album.

Scrapware DT work............

These are some of my work using Scrapware products.

These are the only ones I remembered to take photos of. I still have to catch up with Ange and collect the rest of my work.

Have a great day!!

Busy has now slowed to comfortable.............

Good Morning!!

Yay, I am finally updating my blog AND scrapping again!!!

The past few months have been so Up and Down!

Montana had Pneumonia about 6 weeks ago, followed by a bladder infection and is now fighting her second bout of Pneumonia!!! Poor little possum is really suffering this winter.

It's been busy at work too with all the staff being sick, so I'm called in to cover.
Plus I've been training to do The Stampede!!!

How CRAZY am I!!!!
But it looks like so much fun from watching the video on last years.

In my scrapping world there have been changes also.

Scrapware sold and they no longer have a Design Team.

My local Scrapbooking shop closed down a week ago. That was so sad. So that design team work has come to an end.

I haven't scrapped much at all. Except for some letters I did for  a friend last week that I loved so much that I am going to put them in my Pretty Poppies online store on Facebook. I am yet to put them in my Etsy store of the same name.

And also in the Pretty Poppies store I have my owls that I have handmade. They all have a name AND a personality.
One, Ruby,  has been donated to Bons' ride to conquer cancer auction page
https://www.facebook.com/pages/Fundraising-auctions-for-the-200km-Ride-to-conquer-cancer/199489833492855

So that's it for this post. I'm off to scrap!!!!
Have a great rest of the weekend!!
