Kiddie Lit - Horton Hears A Who...........................

Here is my entry for Kiddie Lit.
The inspiration this month is Horton Hears A Who. A great book by Dr Suess.
I went with the colours of the book and the quote "An elephant is faithful 100%"
My son had only done a school production of this book recently, so I had a bit of a 'heads up' on the quotes etc.

I've used a Basic Grey base paper & Doily, AC Thickers & a Prima flower. All the other bits are from my stash.

Pop over to Kiddie Lit and have a go at the challenge this month and see what you come up with. The deadlines have been extended to the end of the month, so you still have a few days to get your entries in.

It's school holidays here, so we are just taking each day as it comes.
Looking forward to the Pyjama days in there somewhere!! And the sleep ins!!

Hope you all enjoy the rest of the weekend and the school holidays.

Thanks to everyone who leaves me comments too!
I love reading them, but most of all, I love visiting your blogs too! I spend way too much time blog hopping, and not enough time scrapping. But I love it.

Till next time.................

A really good reason to buy & eat chocolate!!

I turned this..............................

Into this...............................

With tags that fit inside the box.

I made it for my dad so he can carry it around in his car or work bag as a little brag book sort of thing.
Here are just 2 of the 5 tags that I made for it.

I finally finished a 60th birthday present which was a Kaiser 60 album in pinks and silver to match the theme of the surprise party they are throwing for her.
But I did the album to be a Guest Book for everyone to sign that is at her party.
I'm sure she will love it.
Unfortunately, trying to rush it up to Sydney on time for the big bash, I forgot to take a pic of it.
I am hoping that she can send me a pic of it, so I can show you all.
I'm working on some layouts at the moment and finishing off some UFO's!! I'm sure we all have them.
And I am trying to get started on sewing some more owls and some dresses for Tana.
Will be back when I have finished something else!!
Have a great weekend!!

ARTastic & Screen 2 Scrap.........................

I was told about these 2 challenge blogs recently and loved the ideas. So I decided to use the criteria for them.
This first layout is for ARTastic and each month a piece of artwork is used as inspiration.
I love reading and learning about the artists with the blurbs that the blog does on the artists.
Go and have a look at ARTastic and see what you get from this months piece of art.

This was my interpretation.......................

And this one is for the Screen 2 Scrap challenge blog. Obviously the name says it all!!
Go and have a look at this months challenge at Screen 2 Scrap which is a poster of a favourite movie of the kiddies!!
I love this blog too for inspiration.
They need 2 more layouts for this month and they will put in a Runners Up RAK. So if you do a layout, you've got 2 chances of winning.

Look Rache!! I cut out!! ;o)

Hope you are all having a great weekend!
I've been out in the garden for most of the day, enjoying the sunshine and cleaning up my gardens.
I'm off to Rache's tonight for a scrap, so I will update tomorrow (maybe) with what I've done.

Enjoy the gorgeous day!!

Let's Get Shabby Guest Layout...........................

Here is my Guest layout for Let's Get Shabby.
Silly me didn't think about how *hard* it would be to photograph a layout done on acetate/transparency before I did it. It was tricky.
But here is the layout photographed on a window and on a white sheet.
I really enjoyed this one. I love the end result too.
I stamped onto the acetate also and just loved the effect of the whole thing.

Don't forget to pop over to Let's Get Shabby and have a go at the new challenge. Sounds tricky but once you start it will be easy!
Have fun!!

Love to Love You Baby-mini album Kit...................

This is what I did with the Qtea Kit 'Love to Love You Baby' Mini album kit.
The photos of the women are all on the right hand side of the album and on the other side are quotes from famous women or famous quotes about women.

Don't forget Qtea's September Kit 'Tutti Frutti' went up for sale today!!

Songbird Scraps.......................

This is my layout for Songbird Scraps 2nd August Lyrics.
The song is 'Live My Life For You' by Firehouse.

The first September lyrics should be up anyday now. So keep an eye out!
