Here is my OTP that I swore I'd never do one again!!

Firstly, here is the Advent/Christmas Countdown tree that I bought the other day. I finished it today and had fun doing it. Although working out the numbers I needed (needing 2 number 2's etc) was a bit brain frying. So we are going to count down from 31 days till christmas.

I know it is missing the left hand side number tiles. I lost the other hook, somewhere into the great unknown. One minute it was there, and then it disappeared. Those damn elves!!
I will have to buy another one. And while I am doing that, I am going to buy a star for the top I think. It looks like it's missing something.
The kids love it.

And here is the OTP album I did.
I am happy with it. (Even though I swore off them!!)
It's for my son and he loves it.
Now I want to do one for my hubby and I am going to do one each for my girlfriends with photos of us over the years, good and bad. These will be much easier to do than a calendar each. I am only going to do a calendar for my parents. That's enough.

Gotta run. Montana is awake. She hasn't been well this past week. We went to the doctors and they are doing all these tests on her.
Has anyone had to get a urine sample from a baby girl with those bags?!! What a job.
Anyway,
Till next time.......

Woohoo!! 3 classes to go!

Not long to go now and I will be finished and qualified! It has been quite a testing past 2 years, with this past year being more testing than last. I guess with being pregnant and having baby brain during pregnancy and now that she's here my brain has been mush.
Thankfully the past 3 weeks, my brain had finally come back to me even if only for a little while, long enough to get all my work done to hand in.

I had a girlfriend come and visit while she was down from Sydney. She will be moving back to Melbourne soon, just before Christmas. I can't wait.
While she was here, I asked her to take some photos of all of us as we haven't got a whole family shot with Montana. Here are the results:

Because I have been so busy with school I haven't done much scrapping at all. After I handed in all my work last Friday, I scrapped all day Saturday. We were meant to be having a garage sale, but it was meant to be 16 and 17 degrees. I thought well, I wouldn't be out in that weather, with a storm also, so we decided to leave it till this coming weekend. Fingers crossed it's better weather.
So, my scrapping on Saturday consisted of doing another OTP. Which I know I swore off doing any more after I did Montana's which was my first one.
But because I did one for her, I had to do one for my son. So I did. I haven't taken any pics of it yet. I am almost finished. But I am really happy with it. It was easier than Montana's. But looking at Montana's I did do alot more than I needed. I added transparent pages also. But I love them both.
I guess I will be doing some more OTP albums now that I know they don't have to be so detailed and intricate as my first one.
Better go. Montana has woken up.
Till next time.....

Oh My Back!!

What a boring week I had last week. It was boring cos I couldn't do anything.
I took Montana shopping on Monday to get DH's christmas present and to teach her *how* to shop and spot bargains. ;o) I took her into the parents room and fed and changed her and put her in her pram. Just as I was bending down and obviously twisting my back went POP! I fell to my knees with shooting pain. I crawled over to the couch (really nice parents room at Myer) and pulled myself up onto it. I am so glad no one else was in there. 2 mums had just left. I sat for about 15 mins hoping to let the pain subside. But it didn't. I was going to ring DH to come and get me. I could hardly walk, but slowly made my way down to the car. I don't know how I got Montana in the car and the pram in the boot.
I called the Chiropractor on the way home but there was no appointments until 4 that afternoon. So I went home until I had to pick DS up from school and went straight to the Chiro.
When a chiro says 'wow, that is really out and boy is it inflamed', it's scary. Unfortunately he couldn't crack it so I had to go back on the Tuesday morning.
I didn't have the best sleep that night.
When I went back on the Tues he was able to crack a little bit but not enough. So I had to just keep icing it and go back this Tues. (tomorrow)
This past week has been painful. I couldn't bend down, couldn't pick up Montana, couldn't stand for too long or even sit for too long. I couldn't do anything and it was driving me mental.
The poor kids copped it. I was so tired from not sleeping and in pain and feeling useless, I let rip on the kids and told them their rooms were pigstys and they were so lazy.
But finally I am feeling better now. I am moving around and slowly but not fully bending down. Still a bit sore in the lower back, but not looking forward to the Chiro tomorrow. I hate going, but I know how good I feel afterwards. I don't like the cracking sound and especially when he does my neck, I feel so ill and dizzy from the sound.
I did manage to do some scrapping on Sunday.
It's our 1st anniversary today and DH got me a $50 voucher for the LSS. He said as he handed it to me last friday 'well the first is paper'. How sweet he is. We went to the LSS and I spent it on the Sat. He couldn't believe what I got. He said 'I thought you would've got a sh** load of stuff.' That's when I told him that it wasn't the cheapest hobby. He looked disappointed.
Anyway, here are some of the creations from Sunday and some of my favourite pics from this past week.............

I don't think this one is finished. I want to add some buttons.

It's not for a comp or anything. Just one I had sitting for ages not knowing what to do with it.

This one is for the Scrap Therapy Monthly Challenge

This is for a comp at the local LSS. They provide the paper packs.

Hopefully my little cherub will sleep a bit this week when she is supposed to. All my housework is done, but I really should be doing my school work. Maybe one hour a day and the rest for my home work. Scrapping is soothing!!! and it will help me from going nuts with all this school work and give me a bit of a break.

Wish me luck for the Chiropractors tomorrow!!

Until then..........

Wow what a day!! Well the last 2 days. Yesterday I was lucky enough to be invited to a 'Mum's Day Out' up in the valley. It involved meeting other mums with babies the same age and there was also a few professionals who came to talk to us about looking after ourselves. Professionals such as a Social Worker, Physiotherapist, Dietician, Health Nurses (who actually looked after our crying babies to give us a bit of time to ourselves.) Then, while we were all relaxed eating the spread that they put on for us all day, we were asked if we wanted a massage!!! Well, DUH!!! So off we went one by one to have a massage behind a screen, with a heater and music playing. Well, I did not want to get up. The 1/2 hour felt like 1 minute. But it was sooooo nice. To be honest, I couldn't fully relax because Montana wasn't with me and I had only just met all these women. But what part I did relax, it was great!! The day was basically to remind us new mums to look after ourselves as well as our babies and families. This is my 2nd child, the other is 8 years old, and I have never been to or heard of anything like this before. I think it should happen more often and especially for 1st time mums. It was really a great day. And today was my first time back at school after having Montana. She is 9 weeks old now and I haven't been since 2 weeks before she was born. I had to go back soon or else I would miss so much. So I went back today and my afternoon teacher looked after her in the morning, then I was allowed to have her in class for the afternoon. I am so lucky and my teacher is the sweetest. So it was a big day today for Montana and me. Anyway, Scrapbooking. I've just started looking at this new blog that I was told to visit and she is giving away some stamps to a lucky blog reader. Head over and have a look!!! Visit Nina at Scrapbookers Nest I haven't done any scrapping this week. A busy week. But below are some I did last weekend for the Scrap Therapy Cybercrop which the theme for this month is Rock/Music.
Here are some of my favourite photos this week.

Montana's Album/My first OTP

Here is the OTP that I did for the first time. It's an album for Montana and I've added transparent pages in with the timber pages. I am really happy how it turned out, but I'm not too sure if I will rush to do another OTP. I'm not sure what I'm not really liking about OTP's. Maybe the amount of work that goes into it or coming up with ideas for every page that ties in with the whole album. Don't know.

Till next time................

My Little Princess is Sleeping!! and I scrapped!

Montana had 2 daytime sleeps yesterday. It's the first time for over a week that she has done this and I think with her being sick was the reason why she wasn't sleeping. But she did yesterday and I was able to scrap!!
I bought a butterfly album and have been dying to do it. I was able to start it yesterday while she slept and while DH was home to help out if she cried or fussed.
It's the first time that I have done anything OTP other than a canvas last year. I am happy with the way it is coming along and the learning process as I go. It was also the first time that I have used Stazon on acetate. I really like the stuff but I think I need more practice with it. But it looks ok. I will post pics later.

I am so excited. I have started ordering new scrap albums I want. They are the Print Block D Ring Albums and they look like they would hold heaps more than the normal ones I have. I have to order one or two a week cos the budget (and DH) would have a fit if I ordered them in one hit, as much as I want them all NOW!! I am getting one for each member of the family as well as a family one and all in different colours so I can 'quick pick' them.
The hardest part was choosing which colour first!! I ended up going the green for the family. But then I had a phone call asking if I wanted to get 2 now as it was cheaper to post than just 1. So of course I said yes. I will just have to hide the other one for a week!!

The school holidays started last Friday and I have both the kids home. Although DD has been at her mum's since Friday and I think she is coming home today.
We haven't got much planned for the school holidays, just scrapping (both the kids love to scrap) and maybe the movies next week.
I bought some clay, 2 slabs, last school holidays for DS after his surgery and I still have 1 1/2 left over, so I may motivate them to make something. I am planning on doing a sculpture of Montana. Maybe. Possibly. I will try.

Well, gotta run. Want to scrap before Montana wakes again.

Till next time...........

Growing Up So Fast!!

My Little Monkey is growing up so fast. Well I should say my little Princess as she is just such a good baby. She was 6 weeks yesterday and boy has the time flown.
She has a little cold at the moment but still hasn't really complained or cried about it. She was irritable and yucky last weekend and is slowly getting over it. It's just the runny nose and little bit of congestion now.
But I thought I would share these pics I took yesterday and on the weekend. The cot one was taken last weekend and I just had to take a pic to remember how tiny she is in the cot.

I haven't had time to scrap at all with Montana being sick. She has been 'attached' to me since last Wednesday. She is in my arms as I write this.
Hopefully with the school holidays coming up next week, I will have 2 babysitters that can help me out with things so I can scrap.
Till next time......
